A fully-founded, four year PhD position is available at the Planning and Learning Group (PLG, http://www.plg.inf.uc3m.es/) at the University Carlos III of Madrid.
The position is linked to the project «Human-Aware Planning and Execution (HAPE)» (PID2021-127647NB-C21) funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (https://www.aei.gob.es/en/announcements/announcements-finder/proyectos-generacion-conocimiento-2021)
The general objective of the project is to design, develop and evaluate new methods, algorithms and tools that support the use and application of Automated Planning and Machine Learning to create intelligent systems in real scenarios where humans play a main role. Human-Aware planning technologies will be applied to build use cases in the context of Social Assistive Robotics with a Pepper robot.
We seek motivated candidates with a strong background in computer science, excellent programming skills, a great interest in Artificial Intelligence, and (preferably) some previous experience in Automated Planning, Machine Learning and/or Robotics.
Candidates have to be in a position that allows them to be enrolled in a doctoral program for next course (last year master’s student).
